TASK DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the goals and principles determined by the senior management of Süleyman Demirel University; It carries out administrative and academic affairs within the department in order to carry out all activities necessary to carry out education and training in line with the vision and mission of the faculty, in accordance with the principles of effectiveness and efficiency.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of Department Heads are stated in Article 21 of Law No. 2547.

1. The department is managed by the department head.

2. The head of the department assigns one of the faculty members as a substitute for the periods when he/she cannot be on duty.

3. In case of separation for more than six months for any reason, a new department head is appointed using the same method to complete the remaining period.

4. The head of the department is responsible for the education, training and research of the department at all levels and the regular and efficient conduct of all activities of the department.

5. He presides over the department boards.

6. Reports the needs of the Department to the Dean's Office in writing.

7. Ensures that all correspondence between the Dean's Office and the Department is carried out in a healthy manner.

8. Provides coordination between departments affiliated to the department.

9. It ensures that the department's course distribution is balanced among the faculty members.

10. Ensures that education and training are carried out regularly in the department.

11. Ensures that additional course and exam fee schedules are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

12. Identifies the education-related problems of the Department and forwards them to the Dean's Office.

13. Conducts the evaluation and quality improvement studies of the Department and submits the reports to the Dean's Office.

14. It carries out the accreditation studies of the programs affiliated with the Department.

15. It tries to create a communication environment among the faculty members in the Department for the purpose of carrying out education and scientific research efficiently and effectively.

Provides necessary information about the Department for the 16th Faculty Academic General Assembly.

17. Ensures regular course registrations at the beginning of each semester.

18. He is closely interested in the educational problems of the students of the Department.

19. Ensures that student-instructor relations in the department are carried out in an orderly and healthy manner, in line with the objectives of education.

20. Holds meetings with advisors to ensure regular course registrations.

21. Ensures that undergraduate education and examination regulations and instructions are implemented in accordance with their spirit.

22. Ensures that faculty members deliver their lessons regularly.

Section 23 ensures the planning and execution of ERASMUS/FARABI programmes.

24. Complying with the ethical rules of the faculty, participating in internal control activities,

25. Performs other duties assigned by the Dean's Office related to his/her field of duty.

10. It tries to create a suitable communication environment among the faculty members in the department for the purpose of carrying out education and scientific research efficiently and effectively.

11. Ensures that research projects in the department are regularly prepared and maintained.

12. The department carries out evaluation and quality improvement studies.

DEPUTY HEADS OF DEPARTMENT
JOB DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the goals and principles determined by the senior management of Süleyman Demirel University; The department head may appoint a maximum of two faculty members in the department as vice presidents. The department head may change his assistants when deemed necessary. When the term of office of the department head ends, the term of office of his assistants also ends.

Deputy department heads are faculty members who assist the department head in performing his duties and are not the hierarchical superiors of the faculty members working in the unit. If department vice presidents act as deputies for the department head, they act as the hierarchical superior of the faculty members in the unit.
