The department has been established with the aim of educating specialists having basic concepts and methods of the writing of history. History is the memory of a nation. By moving out of the idea that societies without memories cannot have any historical and national consciousness, the department of history aims to settle students gain this memory. For that reason, gaining objective national and historical knowledge, learning modern methods in the research of history are the main principles and this is vitally important. Graduates may work in vocational areas as teachers, academicians, archivists and researchers.
