Archeology
Archeology is a branch of science trying hard to understand and interpret the past through time scales (on the basis of concrete relics) and the developmental period of civilization with the aim of a supporting future. The aim of archeology is not to find out anything related to past, but to understand it and utilize the emerging information in a way to help today’s people, enrich and understand their identities and positions in the period of civilization and to transfer this accumulation to future generations. The architecture of Greek and Roman civilizations under the scope of classical archeology, the art of sculpture, its ceramics and other data regarding tiny relics oriented toward daily life are all included in the curriculum. In the gram, it is essential to consider this information within the history, political and social development of the period and its philosophy as well. In addition, courses on Prehistoria, Protohistoria, Early Christianity and Byzantium periods are also included. The students are given the opportunity to work in excavations, surface research and museums, and their theoretical knowledge has been supported with research expeditions. Graduates may work within the Ministry of Culture or in various institutions.
