Department of Western Languages and Literature

Süleyman Demirel University, Department of Western Languages and Literatures, English Language and Literature Program is a modern department established to cultivate individuals who contribute to society, culture, and science by studying English language, literature, and culture, and by improving students' written and spoken English proficiency and usage.

As the Department of English Language and Literature, we aim to equip our students culturally, socially, and intellectually with a comprehensive and modern education in every aspect. Believing that individuals empowered by language can shape societies and the world, we aspire to raise the literary figures, linguists, writers, poets, translators, leaders, cultural ambassadors, and thought leaders of the future. Our primary goal is to contribute to their development as individuals who add value to the world by striving to discover and enhance the potential of each student.
