Mission and Vision

Stablished in 1993 and graduating its first cohort in 1997, the Department of Turkish Language and Literature aims to cultivate dedicated Turcologists proficient in methods for accessing knowledge, capable of scientific and multidimensional thinking, adept in modern research techniques and technology, and skilled in using the Turkish language effectively in both written and oral forms. The department strives to produce scholars with a comprehensive understanding of the historical development of the Turkish language and literature, the ability to read and comprehend literary texts written in old scripts, skills in conducting folklore compilations, and competence in preparing scientific papers, theses, and projects in any specific domain of Turkish language and literature. Furthermore, it seeks to present qualified and universal academic studies on the Turkish language, spoken by approximately 320 million people across a vast geography spanning approximately 12 million square kilometers.

It prioritizes contributing to the national development of our country through its scientific research, educational strategies, and the exceptional, versatile scientists, experts, and teachers it trains.
